Religion

Camilla school offers religion as an optional class within a public-school setting. Although the program is based on the Catholic faith, it is ecumenical (inclusive of many faiths) and families do not have to be Catholic to take part.

Elementary Religion

The Religion program at Camilla focuses on building Christian faith. Grades 1 to 6 students follow the “Born of the Spirit” program. Students must have parental permission to receive religious instruction and to attend the religious program of studies. Preparation for the religious sacraments of First Communion, Reconciliation and Confirmation is done at each of the church parishes, and is not part of the instruction taught at school. Please contact your parish for further information regarding sacramental preparation.

Junior High Religion

Junior High students are invited to attend optional afternoon youth gathering programs throughout the year. The gatherings are open to all students of all Christian faiths.

Character Education

Character Education is a program for students who do not attend the optional religion class. It covers topics such as: caring, courage, tolerance, ambition, responsibility, citizenship, fairness, loyalty and respect.

Mass

Elementary students enrolled in our religion instruction program attend mass three times a year at St. Emerence Church. Families, community members and junior high students are invited to attend as well.
