Religion

Home › Programs › Religion

Camilla school offers religion as an optional class within a public school setting. Although the program is based on the Catholic faith, it is ecumenical (inclusive of many faiths) and families do not have to be Catholic to take part.

Elementary Religion

Mrs. Deanna Victoor will be teaching the religion program for Grades 1 to 6 students following the “Born of the Spirit” program. Students must have parental permission to receive religious instruction and to attend the religious program of studies. Preparation for the religious sacraments of First Communion, Reconciliation and Confirmation is done at each of the church parishes, and is not part of the instruction taught at school. Please contact your parish for further information regarding sacramental preparation.

Junior High Youth Gathering

The religion program for junior high students is delivered in the form of “Youth Gatherings,” which are a series of nine gatherings that take place during school hours. A Roman Catholic Pastoral Assistant delivers this program along with the parish priest. Students require parental consent and must register for this program. Students who attend Youth Gathering are required to make up all missed school work.

Mass

Mass is held three times a year at St. Emerence Church. All students can attend Mass should their parents wish them to; enrollment in a religion class is not required.
